Hi Guys,

I've been struggling to create a brush with a black center and white outlines, where the brush overlaps it's other strokes, creating depth.

I've added a photo simulation of the desired effect, any Idea as to how to create a brush which doesn't turn all black/white when I change the colour?

I'm running photoshop cc2018 on a microsoft surface book

Thanks in advance

Photoshop Brush-tips are 1 color for the time being, meaning the brush tip’s pixels’ brightness’ determine the intensity with which the content (the color or the clone sample) are applied.

What you seem to be asking is not feasible in Photoshop so far, but you could try using Illustrator.
