I get the message above in LR CC when there is definitely a connection. In fact LR Classic is happily connected!!
Please let us know the exact version of Lightroom CC you are using now? You can update Lightroom CC to 1.2 version via Creative Cloud desktop, which went live this week.
Also, please sign-out & sign-in from the Lightroom CC and check if that helps.
I was on 1.1 and now on 1.2, I will see if it reoccurs.
