Extra boxes in iPhone X LR

My friend sent this screen shot for LR on a IPhone X and I do not know what those three boxes for each album how they are created or what they mean:

It is showing you the flag status for the photos in the Album. Tap with two fingers on that screen to achieve the same and then again to go back to picture count.
