    Play Flash

    edb00 Level 1
      Director MX 2004 project running in a MIAW

      Contains a Flash animation -- sprite 6

      Button with this script fails with DPE.
      sprite(6).play()

      Animation plays fine the first time but won't repeat due to the DPE on the repeat button.

      Works fine in authoring Mac OSX

      ideas?

          DPE?

          You may have to sprite(6).rewind() first.

            DPE Director Player Error
            Handler not found
            #Play
            Script Error Continure

            The mystery to me is why it works in authoring but not in playback.

              That is almost always due to not including the correct xtra (or the
              correct version of the xtra) with the projector.

                The animation does run the when the frame is opened. So I don't see how it could be a missing xtra.

                Its that the button to replay the animation causes the DPE.

                I'm wondering now if Director is confused by things being in a MIAW. As if the play command is being sent to sprite 6 of the main window and not sprite 6 of the MIAW

                  The you can use the tell command to send it to the window:

                  tell window("windowName") to sprite(6).play()

                    Problem was customer complaining about the wrong file.

                    Everything is/was OK

                    Thanks
