You don't have to save the edits like you do in other programs. Lightroom stores its edits in the catalog, and does that constantly without the need for you to use a 'save' menu. However, because the edits are stored in the catalog and not in the image itself, you do need to use the 'export' menu if you want to use an edited image in another application.

who is the way you work with the Lr photos for management?

            1.export catalog

(and make changes when you want)

2.export jpg when you finish the develop

No images are actually IN LR. LR is a Database program that References your images, from where they are stored on your hard drives, into the LR Catalog file, A Database file.

All edits you do to an image in LR, whether it is a RAW, JPG, TIFF, whatever type of file, is stored in the LR Catalog file and only Displayed over the image.

To Burn those Edits into the image you need to Export it to a New File.

I suggest you do some viewing of some of the very good LR tutorials found all over the net.

Just Google Tutorials for using Lightroom.

Actually if you want to preserve the quality of the photo and include all the edits you have made you should export as a TIFF file and not a JPG.

Use JPGs only for uploading to web pages and sending in an email. All JPG images are compressed which limits the quality of the image.

If you are starting with a JPG it doesn't really matter that much export to another JPG image.
