I'm working with smart objects while doing a mockup. I'm doing a mockup for three posters which all are one image, but on three different posters. Let's say I would like three posters hanging on a wall, with space inbetween the posters, but I still only want one image in all three posters (let's say a logotype). How do I do that? How do I get one image divided on three different posters (which means I'll have a third of the logo on every poster)?
See the picture below, how do I get ONE image on all three posters, without dividing the image into thirds?
You could place one Linked Smart Object in the three Smart Objects, that way you can update it in all three SOs when necessary.
Thank you! But how do I do that? I'm pretty new working with smart objects so i'm not really sure how linked smart objects work. Appreciate your help!
File > Place Linked
Linked Smart Objects are not stored with the image but reference external files.
So if you have linked to the same file in several containing documents you can update the Linked SO after editing it.
If all the documents are open they update it automatically, otherwise you need to open then and update the SO (Layer > Smart Objects > Update All Modified Content).
