As far as I know Adobe does not announce updates like that.
If you prefer processing RAW images with ACR instead of the camera maker’s proprietary software you might want to petition them to allow shooting DNG so that Adobe does not have to play catch-up with each new camera model’s RAW format.

Yep. This whole issue would go away in an instant if camera manufacturers stopped seeing Adobe as competition, and just decided to support DNG. Leica and Pentax do, and they are still around...
This resistance to DNG is really hard to understand. Would Nikon/Sony/Canon sell less new cameras if their customers knew they had ACR support from day one? Or could it be that they would sell more? Do they understand the market saturation ACR/Lightroom has?
And just to take a broader view - has it ever in history happened that standards hurt anyone's business?
