I am using a Synology RAID drive to store my files on. When I save a file out of PS it sometimes leaves a ghost file behind, like Adobe Photoshop CC 201886084031511933. I can delete it sometimes after the file has finished saving but not always. And if I go to save the file out of PS again (while working on it) I get an error of "Could not save "*.tif" because the file is already in use or was left open by another program"
What is happening here, it is driving me crazy? Synology blames Adobe.
Could you try saving a file on the local drive and see if saves a ghost copy of it?
It does not, and I know that saving to a RAID is probably the issue. My problem is the RAID is like a server and several computers are reading and writing to it all day so all of us have access to the files as needed. It would be a real pain to save to desktop/internal hard drive each time we do edits. By the way, this issue only happens with PS, no other programs have the same issue.
Only solution I have found was to use an external single thunderbolt drive to read and write to. I then use CloudStation to have it mirror that drive to my Synology RAID. It happens very fast.
