Why does Photoshop CS6 crash when asked to print

    miker24742332

This is new problem - it had been printing fine. As I can print to the same printer from Adobe FrameMaker 10 something has gone wrong within Photoshop

I've tried resetting preferences but that had no effect on this problem

      Any suggestions?

          Hi

You don't mention what OS you have, but have you tried downloading the latest driver for your printer from the manufacturers website and reinstalling.

Also if you're on Windows take a look at this thread

I'm using Windows 10 and the drivers for my Brother HL- 2270 are inbuilt in Windows 10. I've checked for Windows updates and my system is already up to date .

It doesn't get as far as a print dialog box - as soon as I select Print from the File menu I get the message:

" Adobe Photoshop CS6 has stopped working ",  and the only option offered is to close the program

Can you check in Event Viewer for an error log relating to Photoshop.exe in the application logs

              Event Log1.jpg

Click on Filter Current Log an put a check mark in the Error check box an click OK

              Event Log2.jpg

You can download printer drivers from here

On the drivers from Brother in the US - it seems they only provide drivers up Windows 7.

Well judging by the crash report it's more than likely a driver issue, most likely your printer driver although it could be caused by another hardware driver like you GPU driver

According to the Brother website that driver supports Windows 10

                  printer.jpg

You need to look at my original post about re-installing the driver, also make sure the your GPU driver is up to date.

You could try running these two commands
