cursor shape

Using photoshop 2.0

Somehow the cursor shape has changed and I cant seem to change it back.

For example,using the smudge too,the cursor on screen would be a circle of different sizes depending on the size of smudge desired....now the cursor is in the shape of a hand,

How do I change it back?

You mean photoshop cs2 or photoshop elements 2?

What operating system are you using?

Usually tapping the Caps Lock will turn the circle into crosshairs. Changing to a Hand Tool symbol is a sign of other problems. If the Caps Lock does not solve the problem, right click on the symbol in the top left of the Options bar and choose Reset Tool
