Help! I don't know anything about any of the Adobe programs and somehow I ended up doing something to stop my docs from opening in pdf.
A pop up box comes up stating the doc will be converted to word and gives the option to cancel or proceed. So, clicking proceed or OK or whatever it is, usually works. However, when downloading docs from internet sites, like Land Titles Office, I can't download and open the file because it cannot be converted. How do I change this back to just opening files as they are with no conversion to Word?
Sorry for the delayed response and inconvenience caused. As per the description above, you are not able to open any PDF files as it asking you to convert to Word, Is that correct?
The record shows that you are subscribed to Adobe Acrobat Pro DC subscription with your current Adobe ID, and with the description, it seems that the default preview of PDF is changed.
To make Acrobat or Reader the default owner of PDF files, please refer to the Adobe article Associate PDF files to always open in Acrobat or Reader on Windows 10
You can also navigate to Edit menu of Acrobat/Reader>Preferences>General>Select as Default PDF Handler.
If you have a different query/issue, please share a screenshot of the error you get, to share the screenshot, please refer to https://forums.adobe.com/docs/DOC-7043#jive_content_id_How_do_I_attach_a_screenshot
Let us know how it goes, and share your findings.
Thanks so much for your assistance Anand!
