Hi all,

since update to LR classic CC 7.3 the program freezes each time the computer returns from hibernating.

I already switched off the GPU support after updating the driver didn't help, no change.

Anyone an idea?

Hi all,

just received a mail from the lightroom queen where she state that this issue may be caused by an external drive falling asleep.

Hi DonRoberto,

We're sorry to hear about this, could you please try creating a new user account with admin rights temporarily and test Photoshop on that account and let us know if it still freezes after returning from hibernation?

Regards,

Sahil

Hi Sahil,

sorry for the delay. The account I'm using has admin rights. LR freezes each time the computer returns from hibernation - independent from the module I'm in. in most cases it's library but also development. Window header shows "Lightroom Catalog - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic - Library (no response)" and the only action I can take is to click the highlighted red "Close" in the right corner. Returns the following: "Adobe Lightroom Classic doesn't react. If you close the program you may lose information. -> close program -> wait for an answer".

With which data I can support you?

Regards,

Robert

I am having a similar issue. My CPU never sleeps but my monitor goes dark after 20 minutes. When I'm working I have Bridge, Lightroom CC Classic and Photoshop open. If I'm away from my machine over the twenty minutes, LR freezes. The only thing I can do is CAD out and re-start the program. I am in the Develop module and I am operating as an Admin. My machine is a i9-7980xe, 128 gigs of RAM and my GPH is an Nvidia TitanXp. My main system drive is a Samsung 960 PRO 2TB and my monitor is a Philips 43" 4K monitor running at  3840x2160. Hardware should not be an issue. Let me know...

Thank you DonRoberto! This fixed my issue! I was leaving my CF card in the reader after it had been ejected.
