Experiencing Numerous Errors with Fireworks CS4 Exporting CSS

    MrTank
      Hello,

Was very excited about the new export css & images feature in Fireworks, however it has caused me nothing but frustration whilst trying to use it.

I get numerous diff errors whilst trying to export my web designs. I have read and completed all the tutorials I can find and most went without a glitch. However I have been currently trying to export CSS & Images for my own custom design. However I constantly get the error message when exporting:

" Object 'border middle' & 'border bottom' overlap, switching to absolute positioning mode "

Here I am trying to export a simple webpage that has a custom border I made, the border is a flattened image, and I have sliced it using the 3 slice technique with a top, background repeating middle and bottom. (another thing to note is that flattened images; bitmaps, won't repeat as a backround image, only vector images such as drawn rectangles etc will. I found that you have to put a blank box around the bitmap to use it as a repeating background - which I have done in this case).

However when I go to export I get the error:

" Object 'border middle' & 'border bottom' overlap, switching to absolute positioning mode "

Even though I am sure nothing is overlapping!! I don't understand why it gives me this error all the time, which in turn causes the entire page to be exported 'left' aligned even though I select 'centre' in export options. This is very annoying as I'm sure I'm doing nothing wrong.

Also sometimes when exporting I get another error where it simply seems to ignore my slices and exports the entire page as a single flattened image!! which is named layer1. This can only be solved by restarting my PC.

I have updated the CSS Export Script & HTML components with this:
      http://www.adobe.com/devnet/fireworks/articles/standards_compliant_design.html
But I wouldn't have thought that would be causing my problems.

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRICIATED. As this would be a very handy feature if only I could get it to work properly :-(

I am running Vista 32 bit on a high end PC.

HIT CTRL/Command + A and you should see which objects overlap.

Pay close attention to the object outlines that appear too close/overlap and 'nudge' them away from each other.
