Have you looked at the "cancel" method of HTTPServce? C'mon man check the docs.
An alternative would be to prevent navigation until the call returns.
As I said Tracy, I am using web services not HTTPService thus I don't have the option of using Cancel.
I don't want to stop navigation either as that defeats part of the charm of using a browser IMHO. I was hoping there was a network type method I could call on an event like the page changing, that would stop all network traffic for web services.
Did you check the docs for any similar methods on WebService?
They are a bit of a different animal, and I am not as familiar with them. Actually, now that I think about it I am not sure how cancel would work with an async service at all. Maybe it just discards the result?
Web services are bigger than Flex, maybe google would net you something.
I did check the docs on Web Service and found a disconnect method but I'm not having any luck with it as of yet. It definitely does not just discard it. Not sure if it's Cairngorm or Flex that's getting tied up but it's frustrating for the user to be stuck waiting for results if you don't want them.
I haven't found anything yet searching around for a global cancel to stop all listeners or ???? Was hoping someone here knew something.
