We have Acrobat Standard 17 Version running on Windows 10 1703. When we try to open up a PDF from the IE11 browser it opens up in Adobe Acrobat instead of the browser. Also I cannot see any PDF reader Add-on module from IE11. The same works perfectly on Chrome. What could be the issue ?

Hello Vinodk,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, you are not able to open PDF files in IE 11, Is that correct?

Please check for any pending updates of Acrobat from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after installing any updates and see if this brings any difference.

Please refer and try the steps from the following Adobe article Troubleshoot viewing PDF files on the web

You can also refer to Display PDF in browser Adobe Acrobat, Acrobat Reader

What it the dot version of Acrobat installed? To identify refer to Identify the product and its version for Acrobat and Reader DC

Is it specific to one PDF or with all the PDF files that IE11 does not open the files?

Let us know how it goes and share your findings.

Regards,

Anand Sri.

Hi Anand - The Version of Adobe is 2017.011.30059. We could not open any PDF in the IE browser. When we do that on chrome it works. We have Windows 10 1703 running. Also those steps for Adobe provided above does not match the version what we have. Is there anything else that we have to look in ?

Thanks Anand. Also is there a way we can use this setting in the registry ?

DISABLE_BROWSER_INTEGRATION=NO

It seems that our package (MST) has this property configured. Instead of redeploying the whole package, is there a way we can modify the existing one so that the PDF can be viewed in IE11 ?
