Batch processing/Image problem

I'm running a batch job pulling in "indexed" barcodes (PNG images), which I change to Grayscale, then change to bitmap.

Final step is to save the changes, but the barcode comes out with a line bottom of the image

(which is *not* visible in the current version of PS, but is visible in other viewers).

Any ideas how to fix this?
