I've just switched to a NAS based solution. The files run off the NAS, the catalogue runs locally.

I use a combination of Ligthtroom and photoshop for all editing. I make the adjustments in LR, then edit in PS, do my work there, then save back to the catalogue.

Prior to NAS, the TIFF file would be saved with the catalogue.

Now with NAS, the TIFF file doesn't get added, but is written in the correct directory.

The only way to get it added is to restart the catalogue, then sync folders.

lets just say this doesnt' work for me. 😃

Halp!

Nothing gets "saved" to the TIF. All the adjustments and changes are written to the catalog. Apparently there is a communication problem between Lightroom and the NAS.

Did you ever resolve this? Thinking about doing exact same setup with that QNAP NAS - has it worked well for you?
