Images Pixelating when Skew or Distort

    MalRom
Hi there, we are using Fireworks CS3 to create some web images and noticed that when we Skew, Distort or Rotate an image that is 250px x 150px it distorts very badly.

After Skewing, the edges and lines are straight but pixulated. Is there a work around or am I doing something wrong?

If possible, we would like to Rotate an image by 10deg and keep the straight lines etc.

      Cheers

      Thanks

Can you link us to an example, I'm confused.

You need to remember that you are working with colored squares on a grid. You don't have infinite resolution. When you distort an image, yes, it's going to look weird. Any time you skew, distort, or rotate an image, Fireworks has to take an image that was mapped nicely to the grid and re-map it. It isn't a perfect process. Think of your perfect horizontal or vertical lines. When rotated, distorted, or skewed, those lines are then made up of stairsteps.

There's no way you can rotate a line by 10 degrees and have it still look "straight."

As a work-around, try making your images at 4 times the eventual size you want and then reducing them to 25%.
