Please try to deactivate the GPU support and check again
You can also try to reset the LR preferences
If this doesn't help we need more informations about your system.
What operating system do you use?
Is your system up-to-date?
Do you have installed the latest version of Lightroom?
What has been changed on your system before the error occured?
Maybe you are seeing the effect as in this link-
Article needs slight changes re location of Profiles- Setting camera profiles has recently changed in LR-Classic version 7.3 to the Basic Panel of the Develop module.
I can't update my LR to CC6 because I use a MacBookPro10.10.1 system. The LR I use is 2017. I haven't seen this problem before and I have uploaded photos from my SD card with no problems. The GPU box was not selected, so that is not the issue, apparently.
Laurashoe. com link cleared things up for me. However, I didn't have this problem before. Perhaps it is due to a setting in my camera Panasonic Lumix. I'll check to see if that has been changed. So, if I understand this issue is due to thumbnails always tend to show up as jpg files in contrast, color etc. Then we can work from there, as Laurashoe explained in the article. OR, we can set the profile to vivid, camera standard, etc.
I did not ask if you were shooting JPG or 'raw' photos?
JPGs will show immediately with colors as set by the camera.
'raw' requires Lightroom to make a render of the photos, and as the previews are created (sometimes slowly) the rendered colors are determined by the default profile that LR uses. (ie. Adobe Color - unless you have changed it, and you should change it if you prefer a different render!!)
Another feature of the Import dialog is to use "Embedded Previews"- This option will show the 'camera JPG' embedded in a 'raw' file and the render of the preview by Lightroom can occur a considerable time later when viewing the previews.
Thank you so much. I am beginning to get this.
