Lightroom presets showing on full size image not just navigator preview

WHY in the world would you want the preset showing up on the full size image and not just the navigator preview?  There is a small lag time between processing the different presets on a full size image.  Adobe, this is a professional service platform, stop turning lightroom into an iPhone app with cutesy "fun" settings.

Is there a way to turn this off so that the preset is only showing int he navigator preview like it use to?
