Cannot install Elements 2018

I'm trying to install elements on my MacBook Pro - I have a disk, and have tried a download/install with the same results.

The first time, I tried to install from the disk. I got to 99%, and the disk ejected unexpectedly, and the install failed - which I totally get, though I have no idea why the disk ejected. Now, and every time since then,  when I try to install (from the disk or download) it fails every time, with error code 15, nothing else on the error summary report. I've tried uninstalling unsuccessfully, deleting all associated files, and terminal sh file altering detailed in the troubleshooting, all to no avail. I'm pretty frustrated at this point...any ideas?

Could you please download the Adobe log collector tool from the below location and use it to collect logs:

Log Collector Tool

Please see the installer logs and check for any errors that you can see.

It's my home computer so I can this evening. I have to be honest, I'm not

totally comfortable attaching log files to a public forum like that. Is

there some other way that isn't public?
