Audio in preview no longer works

With the recent updates, my ability to preview a comp in general doesn't work. I installed the most recent update and the video preview works now, but I can't preview audio. Every once in a while if I restart and empty the cache etc the audio will work but rarely. I've searched all the forums and checked all the preferences etc. Absolutely nothing else about my machine has changed besides this update. Why the inconsistency? How can I fix this? Any clues?

You have not provided any exact technical info like system information, preview settings, audio preferences etc., so we can't really tell you anything.

I also cannot hear audio consistently. I have latest AE update, latest system, update and quicktime... And since the update only problems... ( i work on a late 2013 desktop mac pro)

How are the ideal preference settings for preview. how much cache do i need to allow?

Go to Composition > Preview and check if Audio is selected.

Same problem here as the others - Compostion > Preview > Audio is checked.

CC2018 latest update on Windows 10

*** UPDATE ***

Saved project, shut down AE, Restarted AE, reloaded project....Audio worked.
Looks like the code fix could be minor.
