Illustrator callout numbering

Is there a script or another easy way creating callout numbering in Illustrator.

What callouts? You need to be more specific and explain how they are created, grouped, named and whatnot. Even a script needs some logical structure to latch on and the devil is all in the details.

It's for making an exploded view of details.

I'd like to get the numbers automatically change in order 1, 2, 3 etc.

If I take 2 away then 3 becomes the new 2.

The callouts is already there without numbers for the moment.

Hope It make sense .

Or the association of a number with an item in a drawing?
