If you select "Choose paper source by PDF page size" when printing, the pages are turned completely unpredictably.

No. This option enabled.

I will explain ... Often I have to print projects with alternating formats A4-A3. The printer (Xerox) flips the pages. The old version of the Acrobat (on Windows XP) does not have such a problem.

IMHO this looks like a printer driver feature, courtesy of XEROX.
