Acrobat DC: Problem converting large .docx files with TOC, Figures, etc. (MAC)

Hi all,

I have a licensed copy of Acrobat DC for Mac. I am having trouble converting a large .docx (and .doc) file that contains internal links, i.e. a Table of Contents, links to figures, references, etc.

I can successfully convert smaller files, however large files seem to be timing out, and I get an error that suggests there are network connectivity issues (there are not...) or that I do not have a license (which I do, as I can convert other files and I'm logged in to the software...).

Anyone else have this problem? Any work-arounds?

Hello CW,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused, as per the description above, you are not able to convert a PDF file which has internal links Table of contents, Is that correct?

Please check for any pending updates of Acrobat from help>check for updates, reboot the machine after installing the updates and try converting the PDF file and see if this brings any difference.

Sign out and Sign back in Acrobat Pro DC, reboot the machine once.

You can also try converting the PDF to Word doc using the URL https://cloud.acrobat.com/convertpdf  on a browser like Chrome or Firefox or Safari and see if this brings any difference.

You can also refer and try the suggestions from the following Adobe discussions Word to PDF does not keep hyperlinks in Table of Contents ?

Hyperlink in word are working but not when converted to pdf?

Ensuring that Word TOCs create Hyperlinks in Acrobat

https://acrobatusers.com/forum/pdf-creation/converting-word-table-content-pdf-links-do-not-work/

If you are trying to create the PDF from Word, please navigate to ACROBAT ribbon in Word, Choose Preferences>under Application Settings>Select the options "add links", " Enable Accessibility and Reflow with tagged Adobe PDF and Enable advanced tagging"

and see if the internal links are working or not.

Try to create the PDF from Acrobat from File>Create PDF.

If you still experience the issue, please share the following piece of information so that we can assist you in a better manner:

Hi,

I am trying to convert from Word -> PDF, and get the following error if I initiation the conversion from Word or Adobe Acrobat DC: "Acrobat PDF Conversion could not be completed. This could be due to a network error or if there is no valid Acrobat online service membership." My network connection is fine and I am paying for a membership.

I have tried this on 2 Macs, running macOS High Sierra, (10.13.3 and 10.13.4). Both machines are running Microsoft Word 16.13.1, and Adobe Acrobat Pro DC 2018.011.20040, and Reader 11.0.20.

I will try to send the document as a private message.

Thanks,
Cary

Also, I don't see those options in the Adobe ribbons. I've included screen shots of the Ribbon and the options.
