Generating Audio Narration Crashes Adobe Captivate 2017 on PC

Dear All,

We have Captivate 2017 latest (with the update) on PC (latest Windows 10 with all the updates) and on a Mac (OSX 10.11.6). When generating the audio narration using the Neo voices, Captivate Hangs on the PC, but not on the Mac (same identical project). For the moment the only solution that works is to split the narration in chunks on the PC. However this is not necessary on the Mac. We do not use copy and paste from Word, but we write the narration in an ASCII text editor and carefully avoid the use of "weird" characters. We use only standard letters and numbers and standard punctuation.

Other than reinstalling Captivate or Windows (which we have already done once .. and it's a fresh installation of Windows with no other software besides Office and Captivate itself), is there anything else that can be done?

As I said the same exact project file works flawless on the Mac, but not on the PC.

Any suggestion for troubleshooting will be surely helpful!

Adobe recommends running the software with admin rights. Right-click the application and select "Run as administrator".

Hi Paul,

We noticed your post (from a while ago) regarding this. The computer we use is dedicated to Captivate only (we bought it on purpose), and the software is run under an administrator account. However following your past suggestions - even if we are under an administrator account - we also run the software as you suggest. To no avail unfortunately 😞
