This one's making me scratch my head in confusion. I open a
bog standard jpg image and select the Marquee Tool, draw a careful
line around the area which I want to crop, and note the pixel size
in the Properties window. But when I let go of the mouse, the size
increases slightly (and if I try to type the correct size into the
Properties window, it resizes the image itself).
This doesn't seem to have happened before - FW has been
installed on my machine for some time now and has behaved itself in
the past. More importantly, other applications don't behave as FW
does, suggesting that it's not a general computer issue.
Can anyone make any suggestions as to what might be going on,
and more importantly, what I might do to correct the glitch?
I've just discovered the reason why this was happening: my
son (god bless him) had played with FW and used the marquee tool
with a feather edge rather than a hard edge, and of course FW had
helpfully remembered the setting.
