I have been using Lr classic CC on my recent iMac and Lr mobile on my iPhone X for some time without any problems. Photos taken on my iPhone are imported into Lr mobile and accessible on Lightroom classic as JPEGs, no problem. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, pictures are showing up in Lr classic as HEIC files that Lr is unable to edit, appearing as grey blank images with an exclamation error icon. Clicking on the exclamation gives a popup message "Lightroom has encountered problems reading this photo. You will not be able to make adjustments to the photo." I would of course like to be able to make adjustments, however I can't even VIEW these images, much less edit.
Hi All,
We're happy to announce the release of Lightroom Classic CC 7.5 & Lightroom CC 1.5.
This update includes the support for HEIC image files on Windows platform.

HEIF support was introduced in the latest Classic update (7.4) but only on MacOS version 10.13.x. So to get support in Classic you'll need to update both your OS and Classic.

Hmm, you're running LR 7.3, while HEIC support was added in the most recent version, 7.4.
You have these options:
- If you want LR to be able to handle HEIC photos, you'll need to update your Mac to Macos 10.13 (High Sierra) and LR to 7.4.
- If you want to store HEIC photos on your iPhone but have them converted to JPEG when they sync to LR CC, you can try what the Help says and set the iOS option Settings > Photos > Transfer To Mac Or PC > Automatic on your iPhone. But that hasn't worked for me and others.
- Otherwise, you'll have to set the iOS option Settings > Camera Formats > Most Compatible on your iPhone. This will cause your phone to store photos in JPEG format rather than HEIC, and they'll sync to LR CC as JPEGs (and thus to LR Classic).
