    MacOS Mojave disabled some functions

    lihaoz80286051

After installing Mojave, I noticed a number of Lightroom Classic Functions disabled:

      1. Basic: Vibrance & Saturation disabled

      2. HSL/Color/B&W: all functions disabled

      3. Detail: all functions disabled except sharpening amount, noise reduction, luminance/color

      4. Len correction: defringe

      5. Effects: all functions disabled except amount

      Do others have this problem?

Besides reinstalling MacOS High Sierra, any other options?

      Many thanks.

The release date for mojave is this fall... likely will be buggy for a bit.

Many of Apples apps won't work on mojave yet... https://www.macworld.co.uk/feature/mac-software/apps-work-macos-mojave-3678735/

This looks an awful lot like another problem, totally unrelated to MacOS Mojave. Could you go to the Lightroom 'Help - System Info' menu and tell us what it says behind 'License' (or post a screenshot)?

You really ought to state the version NUMBER of your Lightroom (we need the NUMBER and not words like "latest")

Nevertheless, there are other reports of Lightroom not working properly on OSX 10.14, so it could be that is the problem.

The version number is not enough. We need the first lines of the 'System Info' menu to be sure this is not another problem that we encounter here quite often. It could indeed be MacOS Mojave (the latest version of Lightroom is not officially compatible), but we need to be sure.

It's unlikely that Lightroom will run properly on OSX 10.14 at this time.

That’s what I thought. You have this problem of having 'upgraded' a perpetual license of Lightroom 6 to Lightroom Classic somehow. That upgrade should never have been possible, because you do not have a subscription but a perpetual license (for Lightroom 6). There is no perpetual license for Lightroom Classic and there is no Lightroom 7. Due to a bug in the updaters it was somehow possible to install Lightroom Classic without having a subscription, and this now causes all kinds of problems (you’ve just been lucky that it didn’t happen earlier, when you first started with the upgraded version).

The solution is to go back to Lightroom 6, the version you have a license to use. In order not to lose all the work you may have done since your first update, select all the images that were imported after you updated to Classic and choose 'Metadata - Save Metadata to Files'. Then open Lightroom 6 with your old Lightroom 6 catalog, and import these images. The edits and metadata should come over, except those edits that are new for Lightroom Classic (like Range Mask). You can find the correct installers and updaters here:

                      https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-downloads.html

Or, of course, you can take a subscription to Lightroom Classic after all. In that case you need to fully uninstall Lightroom, and then reinstall it after the subscription has come into effect and you’ve logged in with your Creative Cloud credentials. Your catalog will not be affected by uninstalling/reinstalling.

I don't think it will work properly under Mojave, even after the licensing is straightened out.

Maybe it won't, but this 'Frankenstein' Lightroom version won't work properly on any MacOS X version.
