Trouble exporting swc from Flash for Flex

    sternicus
I'd like to have my fla live in my src directory in order to reuse
some classes I created for my Flex app. After publishing, I move the
      swc into the lib directory.

When publishing the fla inside the main project directory (and moving
the swc into lib), the component appears just fine when running my
Flex app. However, when publishing the fla inside the src directory
(and moving the swc into lib), the component is not visible when
running my Flex app. Either way, the published swf file works fine.

The movieclip I'm exporting does not use the auto-generated class, the
class is specified in a .as file.

I created a very simple component (no .as file) that does NOT suffer
      from this problem.

Any idea why I have to publish this file from the main Flex app
      project directory?

I figured out that I could reuse my code (inside the src directory) and keep the fla file in the main Flex app directory by adding a classpath in the ActionScript 3.0 Settings in Flash's Publish Settings.

Publishing the swc from the main Flex app directory now works (when I put the swc in the lib directory).

I'm still not sure why I'm unable to publish from the src directory and just move the swc into lib.

          Any ideas?
