    Template problem

    britsylv Level 1
      Not sure how to explain this. All I know is I have tried everything I can think of and I have searched online but can't fix this myself

      I have a template. I made my page using a table and splitting it up. Everything has been fine mostly so far. Today I wanted to change a simple picture in my template but I ran into all sorts of problems. I thought this would have been an easy step. I am trying to put the new pic into a table row. The new pic is exactly the same size as the old one. Originally the row was there columns but I merged them into one and added a pic. That was fine. Today I try and add a new pic and all hell breaks out. I see the new pic in the DW design view. When I preview in my browser I see a blank table row. Nothing I do will get the picture to show up in my browser view. I actually got it to show up once but it messed up my template below it. I think it might have something to do with other columns on my page. I have added the bit of code that refers to the table row. Not sure if that will help. Any ideas? Why just changing a simple pic would it screw everything up? It is ok when I put the old pic back but surely I should be able to change a picture in a table row.

      <table width="760" height="673" align="center">
      <tr background="../pagedesign_pics/top_image.jpg">
      <td height="67" colspan="3" valign="top" scope="col"> </td>
      </tr>

      It is pointing to the right place yet a blank table row is visible in my browser yet I see it in the design view of DW.

          IE doesn't do background images on <tr> tags.

            I think I see where the problem is but I can't fix it. I think my code should look something like this:

            <table width="760" height="70">
            <tr>
            <th scope="col"><img src="pagedesign_pics/autumn/autumn_top.jpg" width="760" height="70"></th>
            </tr>
            </table>

            but no matter what I try I can't get the properties section to let me set a scr to add an image. I just have the option to add a background.

              ok for now I have fixed my issue by saving the new image with the old background name. I don't understand why originally the table row was not configured with a scr and ended up just having a background and now it won't let me change that lol

                Thanks Murray, I did not see your post last night when I was trying to sort this out. I know what you mean now but I can't figure out how it came to be that way. I remember I had the table row and I inserted an image. Somehow it bacame a background. It works for now but I know this is not the correct way to do it. At least I am trying to learn from my mistakes lol
