When I try to reinsall photos previously deleted, Lightroom grays them out and will not let me reinstall.

I am told they are already installed. But they are not.

How do I get these photos back into Lightroom.

One of the photos is shown in Slideshow. "The Video is missing"

If Lightroom indicates that the images have already been imported then they are already somewhere in the catalog. Otherwise, that message wouldn't be displayed.

I could not find them. Except a reference which was grayed out.

Thank you for your attempt to help me. I contacted Adobe and they showed me how to recover the photos.

The photos are already in Lightroom. So, you need to click on All Photographs and then you can search for the photos by file name.

When you say "grayed out", are the files marked as missing with the icon "!" ?

Can you:

- right click on the grid icon and select "show location in Folder panel"

- right click on the grid icon and select "show in finder/explorer"

At this point, a screen shot might be helpful so that we can see what you are seeing.

Is there a question mark icon or an exclamation point icon at the top right of the cell that contains the greyed out photos? See the example in Figure 2 here: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders

At the top of a missing photo is a tab. Click on the tab and go to the folder where the original image sits.

That apparently then connects to all the missing photos from that folder.

Thanks for your effort in helping me.
