please see screenshot. this happens a few times a day, but not a consistent amount each day.
i assumed this was a indesign problem but i have installed and reinstalled the application, rebuild, trashed prefs, run utilities, replaced ethernet plugs and tried being consistent about the path i take to open a document. it only happens in indesign so now im wondering if it has something to do with indesign trying to relink images /art that resides on our google cloud.
i am on a mac with up to date system and creative cloud software. co-workers are NOT having the same problem and this situation occurs on my work computer AND my home computer. we also use suitcase team sync.
thank you, in advance, for any help resolving this issue.
Hi,
if you are working on Google Drive a workaround could be:
1. Start up InDesign
2. Drag the document from the file system to the InDesign icon showing in the dock.
This workaround is not from my personal experience, but it was offered by someone else here in the forum.
Personally I'm working with Dropbox and have no problems with opening InDesign documents. Even if I am working in a mixed environment with Windows and OS X. The only thing is that you have to avoid some characters when naming files

I have seen many posts in which InDesign has a problem working through a google server or drive. Try working locally and see if the problem persists. If that works you may have to work locally and then later back up to the Google server. You may also want to contact Google for their recommendations as to how, if possible, this apparent incompatibility can be resolved.

( There are other characters to avoid as well. )
