Filling layers with color in Adobe Sketch

I just recently started using Sketch on my iPad Pro and I can't seem to get the fill layer option to work. I'm doing exactly what's shown in the tutorial video and nothing happens. I just recently downloaded the program four days ago, so I know it's the most recent version. Is there anyone who has any ideas as to why this isn't working? It would be really awesome for me to get this feature to work.

Hi Willy.

It's not a shape fill (which Sketch doesn't have), but filling an entire layer with color.

To do it, create a new Sketch Layer then press-and-hold on the canvas and it will fill with the color of whatever brush you have selected.
