Check the path. Once I have the same issue and It was just that I misspelled my videos directory address.
I've checked the path and spelling a dozen times, I also got a college to check to check for me but it makes no difference. Still can't get the video to display. I just get a black videoDisplay box.
have you tried also other various paths like (and also copy the flv file to the locations)
What kind of video format are you using?
I've tried all those combinations and nothing seems to work. The file is a .flv and I used the flash video encoder that comes with CS3.
so here is one example from myside which works.
Download the flv for example from HERE.
Copy the flv in to the root dir.
My MXML looks like the attached code ( I am using Flexbuilder 2.01 )
I think your problem can only be one of the following:
1) Directory problem
2) Video format can not be displayed properly
-> Which version of flash player 9 are you using ?
I don't think its a directory problem as I'm loading gifs from the same directory and they work fine.
I've got flash player 9,0,115,0 installed.
figured it out was being a bit dumb, I didn't have a copy of the video in the bin-debug folder!!?!
