Maybe is there a function to re-size the columns ?
DG and ADG adjust the last column width to fit the remaining area. I think that is the problem you are facing.
I am unable to understand your final requirement. Can you elaborate as to what is the final result you are looking for ?
Yeah that is my problem, why fit a remainning area?
Think it would be nicer to have all the columns at the same size. My problem would be can i fix the latest column to be the same size as my other columns ( those with width set to nothing )
Same thing when you have columns visibile off when you turn them on the width is all set wrong and not the same as other columns.
Hope you understand my problem better now,
Thanks in advance,
This has been a very debated question. Some users feel there should not be any empty area towards the right which almost looks like DG is showing a extra empty column. Some users feel it can show it. But current implementation goes with the majority votes I guess :)
I think you need to copy the code and make modifications to the caculateColumnSizes code to achive the results you want.
Log a bug at http://bugs.adobe.com/jira
Flex3 hasn't include their source files for viewing or have they ?
First step to achieve what i want is to write a new class which overrides AdvancedDataGridColumnGroup and AdvancedDataGridColumnGroup ?
When FB 3 gets released ADG source would be included in the Pro version.
I don't think you can override the class as calculateColumnSizes is a private method. (Hence I suggested you log a bug)
You need to copy the ADG source and do modifications there.
Oke so your suggestion is:
1) Report it as a bug ( http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FLEXDMV-1640 )
2) When flex is released modify my local ADG source.
What do you mean by copy? Can't i just modify the included source?
Bug has been updated,
Could you answere my last question please?
You can modify the included source. You need to build the SWC and use it. But you need to modify the build script provided due to this bug
Thanks Sreenivas, i will look into it soon!
Is there a way to make the columnWidth to be adjusted based on the header's name? I have the following headers.
Name, Data, Processd Date, Status
The grid's width is set to 100%. When I set the minColumnWidth to 1/4 of the ADG's width, the last column is much longer. And, it shows:
Name, Data, Processed, Status
The last column is much wider than the rest. The worst part is that "Processed Date" displayed "Processed". Users find it annoying because they have to drag the column wider.
