use the drawing api.
So to clarify further, you are telling me that by using the .as file I can not use the Progress bar.
I am to use the drawing api and dynamically create my own progress bar in place of the Flash provided one?
Is this correct?
you can use anything in the associated swf's library that has a linkage id, including all components.
Ok, I feel like a needy person here. How?
Heres a question for the imports of Flash stuff you have import statments such as
Where the heck is the mx folder?
How am I to see where to include files from?
How do I import the Progress bar component?
I cant find what Im looking for, partially because I dont know what Im looking for.
use the component name. that's its linkage id.
for example, ProgressBar is the linkage id of the component you want to use. and as long as the ProgressBar is in your library you won't need to import its class (import mx.controls.ProgressBar).
Ok, but a question on the import statement.
Where can I view a list of all the possible imports such as the 'mx.controls.ProgressBar'
How is a user to know what is there to include?
Thanks kglad !
i've never used a list, but there may be one in the flash help files. when coding on a timeline, you can see what classes need to be imported (like externalinterface, tween etc) by checking an example of using any of the class methods. when coding for a class, the compiler will tell you what you need to import.
