Grep that can target any letter before a period (Full stop)

Hi,

I'm just trying to find a grep that can add a character style to ANY LETTER that is before a PERIOD (FULL STOP). I'll attach an image with the letters in RED. They are all in one sentence too...with no returns. Is this possible?

Thanks Vladan! Thats great. What would you have to do if the letter was lower case before the period? eg "a. CL 123456 Xxxxxx xxx xxxxx xxxxxx xxxxx xxx $123"

\u is the code for a single uppercase character; the code for a single lowercase letter is \l ("ell", not "Eye").
