    Drop Down Menue Help

    MrMarx
      Hi Ppl

I am having a bit a problem with a menu I am creating, I want an image to light up when the mouse is on it and a drop down menu to appear. I have done a slice with simple rollover behaviour and then attached a drop down menu to it. What I need it to do is maintain the mouse over effect when the mouse is moved off the image and into the drop down box. Currently the top button returns to the mouse off effect when the cursor moves to the drop down menu.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

          Hi

To explain further I am trying to achieve the following effect that the following document describes: How to retain the over state for Pop-up Menu triggers in Fireworks MX.

However I am using Fireworks 8 and believe they have change the way menu are created

          Any help would be great

Instead of using the simple rollover behavior, use the Swap image
behavior, and uncheck the Restore Image onMouseOut box. The problem you
have then is that once moused over, the swapped images stay in place.
There's no easy solution to this problem. You are better off creating
the menus yourself. Here's a good tutorial:

              Thanks for the reply

I manageed to sort this problem by downloading the trial version of fireworks mx, and following the tutorials available. It is a bit of a pain that a feature like this is unavailable in the new fireworks.

Where did you download the trial version of Fireworks MX? That's an old
                version.
