Export Text from Figure in Framemaker

How can I export the text on an image in Framemaker or Adobe pdf?  I have have the image in both formats.

Hi Cindy:

Is the text actually part of the image? If so, you'd need to open up the original file (i.e., a chart from Excel, an image with intact layers from Photoshop or an illustration from Illustrator) to extract the text.
