1. Re: link thumbnail to large image not working
ThinkInk Jan 12, 2009 11:40 PM (in response to mimsymc)Have you made sure that your client is making al the right steps?
Maybe you can let them write out the steps they are making and compair them to your actions?
This way you make it more clear to yourself and the forum readers what could be the trouble. -
2. Re: link thumbnail to large image not working
mimsymc Jan 13, 2009 11:03 AM (in response to mimsymc)Thanks for the reply. He was taking notes as we did it together on his computer and I also watched him do it. I also couldn't get it to work on his computer. The same steps work fine on my computer. It's such a simple process; it's baffling that it won't let us link to an image. -

4. Re: link thumbnail to large image not working
mimsymc Jan 14, 2009 11:44 AM (in response to mimsymc)Click on the thumbnail.
Click on Link icon.
Click on "File on my Computer"
Browse to large image on computer.
Select that image.
Click OK.
The message appears that starts: "To make changes to this file..."
Click OK.
Now the error message appears that says something like: "can't be edited in this region of the page" -
5. Re: link thumbnail to large image not working
ThinkInk Jan 15, 2009 12:01 AM (in response to mimsymc)That seems to be OK, except for the error of course, you never get to the Publish the page stage?
Can you post url to the page and version of Contribute (I guess CS4)? -
6. Re: link thumbnail to large image not working
mimsymc Jan 19, 2009 5:06 PM (in response to mimsymc)I called Adobe. They had me delete the client's site and recreate it and send him a new connection key. This took care of this problem and one that was keeping us from editing a page. Thanks for the help. -
7. Re: link thumbnail to large image not working
ThinkInk Jan 19, 2009 11:56 PM (in response to mimsymc)Hi mimsymc,
That's good to know! Glad you got it solved.
This seems also to be a good solution for people who are having trouble with .lck files not being deleted after publish. Apparently it's possible for a Contribute account/connection to get corrupted.
Still it remains unclear what causes this to happen and what is excactly happening.
