I can open a file but as soon as I try to do anything - open tools, save as, scroll down the page - the application quits. "Acrobat Pro DC quit unexpectedly. Click reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to Apple automatically." Everything was working fine yesterday.
I'm running Mac OS 10.11.6 and cannot upgrade my OS due to the age of my machine. Acrobat version is 18.011.20063.

As mentioned Acrobat is crashing on your mac machine, could you try installing the latest patch for Acrobat using "Check for updates" option under "Help" menu, reboot the machine after installing update and try again. You may also download updates from here:
If that doesn't work, try resetting preferences for Acrobat using the steps given in this link: How to reset Acrobat Preference settings to default. reboot the machine after resetting preferences and try again.
