Illustrator CS6 crashes when saving

Been using Illustrator CS6 for years and now recently on a new 2018 MacBook Pro. Has worked fine until this afternoon when every time I tried to save a file, the cursor would start spinning and I would have to force quit to get out. Lost a lot of work. Tried reinstalling, same thing. Tried signing out of iCloud (which was one of the answers posted). Didn't work. Out of options but must use my Illustrator. Please help!

Have you updated your OS recently? CS6 isn't supported on anything later than El Capitan, so you're kind of lucky it worked at all until now.
