    Question on Insert

    lavanya_bhattu
      Hi everyone,

I am facing difficulty while doing the following:

I have two types of users a) Parents b) Children

      a) Parents already have login details

      b) Parents create children and their login details.

      c) Parents can grant permissions to other parents to view certain features in their webpages.

I have a problem that when a parent creates a new child, this child should appear to the other parents when they login. These parents are those who have been given permission by the original parent.

Can anyone suggest any ideas on how to do this

      Thanks.

What happens on the back end when:

          a. a parent creates a child?
          b. permission is granted to another parent

Also, when parent A logs in to parent B's page, what do they currently see? What happened on the back end to make that happen?

That doesn't sound like "a problem", it sounds like "a requirement". It
doesn't become a problem until you actually try to implement a solution,
            and something goes wrong.

"A problem" would be along the lines of "I tried to do it [some way], and
as a result of this [something occurred which is undesirable]".

Your question is vague, and pretty much seems like you want us to design
your system for you: you don't say which bits of the requirement you're
struggling with, so one kind of needs to assume "all of it": the DB design,
the SQL, the CF code, the UI... That's not the scope of a question on a
forum, it's the scope for engaging a consultant.

Can I recommend you give it some thought, come up with an approach, and
then ask if it's a reasonable one. Or possibly even try to implement it,
and if you come across specific problems, sing out.
