Hi Richie,

As you have mentioned above, when you click on the signature box a black translucent screen appears.

Try once to create a test file and add a signature field to it.

Then try to add a signature using the same steps and check if the behavior is replicable.

Let us know how it goes.

When the black screen appears, do you see anything mentioned on that screen or any error message that appears on the window?

Did you check if this issue occurs with this particular document or with all?

Would you mind sharing the screenshot of the window that appears?

To share the screenshot, use the steps provided below:

- Click on the insert icon provided in the reply window as shown below:

- An Insert Image window will appear.

- Then click on Insert Image and browse the location where you have saved the screenshot file.

- Select the file and click on Open > Insert Image.

Please also share the information as asked below:

- Application version

- OS on the machine

- Steps to replicate the issue

- It would be helpful if you can share the PDF with us. ( you can share the PDF either here or in a private message as well How Do I Send Private Message)

To share a PDF, use the steps mentioned here How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud

Let us know if you need any help.

We will be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Meenakshi

Dear Meenakshi,

I followed your instructions but no avail.  I still produce a black translucent screen.  Here are answers to your questions.

When the black screen appears, do you see anything mentioned on that screen or any
error message that appears on the window?

Richie's Answer:  No

Did you check if this issue occurs with this particular document or with all?

Richie's Answer:  This occurs with every PDF I sign with PRO DC; however, I can sign documents using Reader

Would you mind sharing the screenshot of the window that appears?

Richie' Answer:  Attached Shared Files - Acrobat.com

Thank you for sharing the details.

I did check the files that you have shared.

When we click on the signature field, the black translucent screen appears and then pop-ups the "Sign with Digital ID" window.

As you do not get that window in Acrobat Dc, please try once to repair the application if you are on Windows.

Also, check if the application is updated to the latest version available for the application.

Launch the application and go to Help > Repair Installation or Check for updates.

Reboot your machine once and check if that makes any difference.

Also, try once the troubleshooting steps mentioned in this help document Resolve Acrobat DC intermittent crashes on Windows

On Mac, refer this help document Troubleshoot Mac OS 10.x system errors, freezes | Adobe software

Let us know how it goes.

Meenakshi
