Is there a way to manually enter text in Acrobat Pro DC to make scanned handwritten text searchable (no OCR required)?

I maintain a series of aircraft maintenance logs; text search capability of all the entries would be very helpful. Most of the entries are computer-generated so OCR recognizes these, but about one in ten entries are handwritten. I'm looking for a way to manually enter text for the handwritten entries so that all log entries are covered by a text search. There's not much content on each log page, so narrowing the search to a single page would be sufficient.
