Hi!

  • Photoshop version CS4
  • Mac 10.13.6

I'm having an issue with CS4 photoshop 'file info' not functioning. The application works fine otherwise.

Issue Description:

With a document then going to edit > file info the screen is blank, the application freezes, and photoshop must be 'force quit' to regain functionality. This issue originated at some point within the last three OS updates. This issue has been previously presented on forum threads as far back as 2010.

What I've done to address the issue:

  • Repaired permissions
  • Removed CS4
  • Rebooted
  • Used the Adobe Cleaner tool
  • Rebooted
  • Reinstalled a new copy of CS4

After taking these steps the issue persists.

Solutions mentioned on the following threads have not been successful:

https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/39653723

  • adding a xmp.cfg file to /Library/Application Support/Macromedia/FlashPlayerTrust
  • making sure that FlashPlayer is updated

Thanks!

John

I have seen it mentioned that an OLD version of Java must be installed to get an old program (CS6 and earlier) working with your new operating system https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572?locale=en_US

If that doesn't work, you're going to have to think about buying a new program that is compatible with your operating system... Photoshop Elements should work for you, and it is purchased for a one time fee
