    H.264 trouble

    KnarfEK
In a sequence player, I am having crashes, only in projector mode, when playing H.264 videos directly following another video. If I stick in a Flash file before playing all works fine. Other compressions work fine. Re compressing the same video to another compression works fine.

Anyone come across anything about odd H.264 behavior with Director MX2004 v10.1?

          Very odd.

If I stick a stub swf file off-stage in those frames the video plays fine.

Does Director use the Flash asset to play H.264?

the flash asset of mx2004 (flash 8) does not support H.264.(flashplayer 9).
I played some H.264 imported as windows media but this is also
buggy at start and end of a videofile.
            Maybe it works in D11.

I have problems with h264. I ask the video guys not to give me the h264 but
they keep giving it to me anyway. I think it's rather draining on the video
              cards.

What compression is better than H264 then for streaming video on Internet?

Does Director 11 handle h264 better?

Well, for now you can try what worked for me and place a stub swf file offstage where you're playing the video.
I didn't have any choice as I need to be able to play such a common format.
