Gradient in circle

Hi there,

I have to make something (well actually 2 things), and I can't figure out how to do it. The attached file is a drawing of it. So I need to make a circle, with 4 colors, that blend in towards each other.  And it has to be an open and closed circle. I have no clue how to make this. I have tried different things (gradients, blending) but it all doesn't have the effect that I want. Does anyone know how to make this? Thanks so much in advance!!
