Has anyone beta tested the new Dir?

    Level 7
I find it a bit strange that no one on this forum has any information
about the "new" Dir! Are there no beta testers here? If not, who is
beta testing the software? Certainly they are not planning to release a
product that has not been beta tested? I am another user who has been
using Dir since v 4.0 and is eagerly awaiting the new version (and hope
that they have a good upgrade policy like Flash). I've tried Flash,
even bought Flash 8, but for a Director user it does not have equivalent
capabilities and is way too awkward to use - frankly I hate it. I wish
I could convert my Director work to Flash, but I just couldn't do it. If
the next Dir does not come out, what would be the next easiest product
or language to use to code a role-playing adventure or simulation game?

      Thanks,

      Prof. S.

If there were, their NDAs would prohibit them from either announcing
they /were/ testers and certainly they wouldn't be permitted to talk
          about Director.

As Sean said, people whio are in the beta testing group for Director (or any
product for that matter) would be under a NDA - Non-Disclosure Agreement
which prohibits them discussing publically the product until it is released.
Beta testers generally don't announce that they are beta testing the
product. But rest assured, Director 11 is being developed, there is a team
of people testing the product. This has been stated publically by Adobe
people here and in other places. If you go to the upcoming Games Developer
Connference, Allen Partridge, Adobe Director Evangelist , will be there and
            can provide more Director info.
